Join our campaign now and show your support

Join our campaign and call for binding legislation to support employees and employers tackling depression in the workplace.

More than 1 in 10 EU citizens suffer from depression at some point in their life. Employees and employers need help and support in tackling this issue and keeping people healthy and at work.

It's easy to join our campaign. Simply follow the 4 steps below.

Step 1. Read our open letter here

Step 2. Find your MEP's email address

Step 3. Copy and paste the following text into an email to send to your MEP:

The European Depression Association is running an EU-wide campaign to make the fight against depression at work a European priority. According to the World Health Organisation depression is one of the most debilitating conditions and the burden of depression is predicted to become the greatest cause of disability by 2030. The collateral socio-economic costs of depression are significant - tangible costs are estimated at 92 billion Euros in 2010 with the majority of costs (54 billion Euros) being attributed to factors such as lost productivity e.g. sick leave, absenteeism and lower performance at work.

As a first step please read EDA's Open letter from 1 May 2012 calling on MEPs and policy makers to establish depression as a standalone condition and to prioritise it in all policies impacting workers, in particular in the forthcoming EU strategy on Health and Safety at Work (2013-2020). As my MEP I urge you to register your interest in this campaign by emailing info@edaweb.eu.
